How Nexra collects, uses, and protects your personal information.

1. Information We Collect
We collect different information depending on how you use Nexra:
- Guest users: Name, email address, and phone number at checkout.
- Registered users: Full name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
- Sellers (KYC): Matric number, student ID card image, store name, store description, and bank account details (account number and bank name).
- Transaction data: Order history, payment references, wallet activity, and withdrawal records.
- Device & usage data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser, and pages visited.
- Communication data: Seller order update messages (marketplace) and chat messages in the Services section.
- Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to deliver order and platform notifications via Firebase.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Process guest and registered orders through Paystack.
- Process payouts to sellers upon delivery confirmation.
- Verify seller identity and approve seller applications.
- Disburse seller earnings to their bank accounts via the Paystack Transfer API.
- Send order updates, dispute notifications, and platform announcements via push notifications (Firebase) and email.
- Store and serve product and profile images via Cloudinary.
- Resolve disputes between buyers and sellers.
- Prevent fraud and enforce our platform policies.
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations under Nigerian law.
3. Who We Share It With
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the following third-party services that power Nexra:
- Paystack: Payment processing, compliance verification, and seller payouts via Transfer API.
- Cloudinary: Storage and delivery of product images, store banners, and profile photos.
- Firebase (Google): Push notification delivery for order updates and alerts.
- TiDB Cloud / MySQL: Secure cloud database hosting for platform data.
- Nigerian regulatory authorities: Where required by law (e.g. CAC, EFCC, FIRS).
We only share the minimum data necessary with each third party to deliver our services. Each provider operates under their own privacy policy.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure. We use TLS encryption for all data in transit. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised Nexra team members only.
Seller bank account details are used solely for processing withdrawals via Paystack and are never shared with buyers or other sellers.
We retain your data only for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, or as required by Nigerian law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting our support team.
While we implement reasonable security measures, no internet transmission or electronic storage system is completely secure.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data Nexra holds about you.
- Correct inaccurate information in your account profile.
- Request deletion of your account and data (subject to legal retention requirements and pending transaction obligations).
- Opt out of non-essential communications.

6. Cookies
Nexra uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your session, and analyse platform usage. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect your ability to stay logged in or complete purchases.
7. Age Policy
Nexra is a student marketplace designed for university students. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use the platform as a registered user. Guest checkout is available to all users but the same age minimum applies.
If you believe a minor under 16 has registered an account, contact us at nexra.support@gmail.com and we will remove the account promptly.
